Out-of-home delivery · Québec

Delivered.Nobody home.No problem.

OutOfHome is an open network of smart parcel lockers and staffed pickup counters. Carriers deliver once, to a place that is ready to receive. People collect their parcel when it suits them.

First site: Laval, Québec.

Why out of home

The doorstep is the expensive part.

  1. 01

    One stop, many parcels

A courier drops a whole batch at one locker bank or counter instead of stopping at every door on the street.

  2. 02

    Somebody is always home

Lockers open around the clock wherever the site allows it. Counters receive during their opening hours. No missed-delivery slip, no second trip.

  3. 03

    Safer than a porch

The parcel waits behind a door that opens only with the customer’s code, or behind a counter with a person who checks it.

For carriers

Deliver once. Not twice.

Route parcels to an OutOfHome point as the destination, or as the fallback after a missed attempt. Drop the batch, scan it in, and the delivery is done.

  • Open to every carrier, not tied to one network.
  • A scan at drop-off and at pickup, so you know when the parcel left your hands and when it reached the customer.
  • We fit around the systems you already run. Tell us what they are.

For location hosts

Your space, working harder.

A locker bank stands against a wall in a lobby, a parking lot or a store entrance. A counter point is a business that hands parcels over the counter. Either way, people come to your door who were not coming before.

  • Locker sites: tell us about the space and we size the unit to fit it.
  • Counter sites: a phone to scan and a shelf to hold parcels.
  • Every pickup is a visit to your business.

For stores and shoppers

Pickup on the way. Returns on the way back.

Online stores can offer an OutOfHome point as a delivery choice, and shoppers drop their returns at the same places through ReturnStation, our returns service.

  • One network for deliveries and returns.
  • Built by the team behind MesColis and ShipSmarter, the Canadian shipping platforms.
  • French and English from the first screen.

Two kinds of point

A locker for the hours. A counter for the rest.

Self-service

Smart locker

  • Open around the clock wherever the site allows it.
  • Opens with a code or QR on the customer’s phone.
  • No staff needed at the handover.

Best for apartment lobbies, transit, parking lots and store entrances.

Staffed

Counter point

  • Receives during the host’s opening hours.
  • Takes larger and odd-shaped parcels a locker cannot.
  • Also accepts returns and drop-offs.

Best for dépanneurs, pharmacies, print shops and hardware stores.

How it works

Four scans from truck to hand.

  1. 01

    Route

The carrier, or the shopper at checkout, picks an OutOfHome point as the destination.

  2. 02

    Drop

The courier scans the parcel into a locker or hands it over the counter.

  3. 03

    Notify

The customer receives a pickup code and the point’s address.

  4. 04

    Collect

The customer opens the locker or shows the code. The carrier gets the pickup scan.

The network

Dense where it starts.

We are opening the first sites close together in Laval and on the North Shore, so the network is useful where it begins instead of thin everywhere.

Questions

Straight answers.

What is out-of-home delivery?

Delivering a parcel to a locker or a staffed pickup point instead of a front door. The customer collects it when it suits them.

Which carriers can use the network?

Any carrier, once we have agreed how parcels are handed over and tracked. It is an open network, not tied to one company. Use the form below to start that conversation.

Is OutOfHome the same as ReturnStation?

They share the same points. OutOfHome is the network carriers and hosts work with. ReturnStation is the returns service shoppers see.

What does a host get?

Counter points earn a fee for the parcels they handle. Locker sites are arranged case by case, depending on the space. Tell us about yours and we will walk you through it.

Where are you operating?

The first site is our MesColis counter in Laval. Smart lockers and more sites in Laval and on the North Shore come next.
